Fridhems Folk High School is now looking for an artist and educator in painting who wants to take over and further develop our painting direction in the general course as our long-time teacher retires.

The education gives participants the opportunity to explore their own artistic expression through work in various techniques and materials, such as life drawing, acrylic, oil, watercolor, spray, as well as various pens and crayons. The teaching also includes discussions on how art can be presented and exhibited, as well as an introduction to what is included in a basic artistic education.

We are looking for you who are a trained artist with a broad approach to painting and artistic work. You have an open mind for different artistic expressions and are not too narrowly specialized. It is an advantage if you are a trained visual arts teacher for high school and/or have completed the folk high school teacher program and have the qualification to teach Swedish.

You are driven, engaged, and structured, and thrive in the role of educator and leader in the classroom. You can create pace and progression in teaching, are a good organizer, and have the ability to lead and support participants from various backgrounds, including individuals living with mental health issues. You are clear in your communication and not conflict-averse. The work includes interviewing and accepting new participants into the program.

As a teacher in the general course, you will be part of a team with five other teachers who collaborate closely and where there are good opportunities to influence and develop the course content.

Employment Conditions

Permanent position at 40% with a 6-month probationary period. The employment is a holiday position starting on August 10, 2026. The position is primarily performed on-site in Svalöv.
